![]() I was advised that in order to rent the car I would have to pay $194.00 to get the $300,000 coverage. Your staff told me that Kayak had sent me a notice that I would need the $300,000 coverage in order to rent their car, but I did not receive such notification. I could not contact USAA since it was late. and once they received it they claimed that I did not have enough Property Damage coverage I have $100,000 coverage but they require $300,000 coverage. I did not like that even though I have USAA Insurance and showed them my insurance card they would not accept it and had to call my home to have them send in the declaration sheet. 2023 I liked that they stayed open late to help, us get our car. The whole ordeal as rediculous, none of the customer service agents were friendly or helpful and the vehicles were disgusting. So my husband put on the spare and we drove the hour and a half back to the airport and got a new vehicle. after calling the closest 4 agencies, they all told us we had to GO BACK to the airport to exchange it. They recommended we go to the closest Thrifty and exchange the vehicle. Needless to say it took 2 days of trying to call road side assistance (with 2 elderly parents and 4 kids to manage) to get a fixed tire. ![]() There was also a "low tire presure" warning showing one tire 10 pounds low on pressure. All we saw was the shifter and figured that would be easy to clean up, only to find it all over in the back seats later. The other car however, had either spilled milkshakes (?) or possibly vomit in sever difference cup holders and all over the shifter. One vehicle had no navigation capabilities and had tar all down the drivers side. We were so tired that we ignored the issues that we thought were no big deal. We arrived at the airport very late and had prepaid for 2 cars. 2021 I will NEVER rent from Thrifty again. It defeats the purpose of a real satisfaction review. It is perfectly fine to ask a customer to give a review but you can’t insist on giving you a certain rating. That is unprofessional and unacceptable to tell a customer what review to give you. I was even more upset when the lady kept telling me to give a 10 out 10 review. I will stick with the major chains who have a character to protect. Also I was quoted $284.00 when I booked the initial vehicle and when I picked it up it was $378.00. The lady refused even when I told her it was unfair. I argued that I should be charged after I return the vehicle since it was going to be impossible to know how much I would accumulate in toll charges. Plus they charge me $9.99 per day for toll. That defies logic and made absolutely no sense to give such a deep discount just because you want to be “nice”. The way I determined that I was overcharged is because they said the additional rental was $100.00 per day but they will give it to me for $35.00 per day. I didn’t like that I was overcharged for upgrading. 2023 The upgraded vehicle was large enough for my family. If you continue to accept reservations for cars at this location, you will continue to get customer complaints, refund demands, and disputed credit card transactions.Īug. I have rented cars countless times in my life and I have never experienced anything like I have with dollar/thrifty. This is clearly something that happens frequently, as all of the associates were combative and appeared to be prepared for an issue with every guest that approached. This company takes your money with a deposit and then refuses to honor their commitments or refunds. The person before me was told they can’t pick up their reserved car (which they also paid in advance for) because they didn’t have a plane ticket departing from their drop off location. I left this location questioning if they ever had a rental available for me in the first place, and if they were just trying to turn me away. I have Used the magnetic strip on my credit card at with other vendors before and after the interaction. They refused to type the numbers in manually, use my chip, use another card, or use Apple Pay. I was told that I couldn’t pick up my car (even though I paid in advance) because the magnetic strip on my credit card wouldnt work in their broken machine. Three people in front of me in line were also unsuccessful in getting the company to honor their reservation.
